Established in the year 2000 by Phil Bell, Eco contracting has grown from a small mulching operation to a specialised land restoration business. In 2026 Eco contracting was sold and rebranded as Eco contracting and agriculture recognising the significant growth into the ag industry.

We can clear the largest of scrub, gorse, flannel leaf (woolly nightshade) and even grind up whole felled trees! We can manage your whole project from start to finish from initial weed spraying, clearing, re grassing and ongoing maintenance.

Buried stumps and timber are our specialty, we can grind your waste wood/forestry slash into the ground up to 350mm deep all while cultivating your soil in one pass with our 2.5 metre Meri crushers developed in Finland for cultivating peat swamps.

Our custom built high speed stump grinder can grind any size stump up to 500mm into the ground, then when we are finished we can bulldoze the wood chips into the hole where the stump once was.

With excavators from 1.5 to 14 tonne we can offer solutions for all facets of land clearing and maintenance. Equipped with mulchers, root rakes and tilt hitches there's not many jobs we can't do. We also have bobcats, loaders and tip trucks available.
